Nadine Edirmanasinghe
Founder of Edirmana Law. A long-time advocate for human rights and immigration and refugee issues, with prior service as a Legal Officer for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees in Canada.
Edirmana Law was founded by Nadine Edirmanasinghe, who has long been a passionate advocate for human rights and immigration and refugee issues. She completed a joint degree offered through the University of Ottawa's Faculty of Law and Carleton University's Norman Paterson School of International Affairs (NPSIA), securing both her LL.B. and M.A. degrees.
While pursuing her studies, Nadine worked at the South Ottawa Community Legal Aid Clinic, the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA), and volunteered with such organizations as the Refugee Forum, the Parliamentary Centre, and the National Anti-Poverty Association.
After completing her articles of clerkship at a large immigration law firm in Toronto, Nadine served as a Legal Officer for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Canada. She subsequently acted as a UNHCR Consultant.
When she is not working on a case, Nadine can often be found hiking the trails of Gatineau Park, working in her garden, or forging ahead on a camping or fishing trip.
